Tropical corn is well known as a great planting for wildlife. This sub-tropical crop thrives in hot dry weather and is a prolific producer. Tropical corn can be planted through the month of July. Trials by Auburn University have shown tropical corn producing up to 85 bushels per acre.

Tropical corn has many uses when planted for wildlife. If planted for deer quail, and turkey leave the crop standing through the fall and winter. Provides great cover and an excellent food source. if planted for doves cut the crop to scatter the grain on the ground.

Tropical corn grows to 10 feet tall and should be planted at 10 to 15 lbs. per acre.

Cover seeds 1 to 2 inches. Also makes a great companion crop for lablab and cowpeas.

Recommended pH is 5.5 or higher.
